Ian Ferris is an English Literature student on the verge of graduation this June at Western Washington University. In addition to TESOL and Writing Studies minors and enrollment in the Honors College, Ian is in the midst of a self-directed emphasis on environmental writing. A transplant into the Pacific Northwest from Colorado, he is proud to call the coastal gem of Bellingham his Bellinghome, including all of the beautiful mountains, forests, and bodies of water that are rooted there. When he is not talking to trees, Ian can often be found at work as the Coordinator of Operations at the university’s Research-Writing Studio or singing and beatboxing in Western’s men’s a’capella group, Rebel Clef. Ian will be leaving this summer to teach English in Japan for a year, and then plans to return to the states to continue pursuing environmental writing in graduate studies.
